Next row (button hole row) knit 8, yarn forward, knit2 tog, knit to end 

Knit 3 rows

Cast off 

Handle

Cast on 4 stiches

Knit every row for 33 cms adjust rows for shorter or longer handle 

Cast off attach to bag

To make up.

Sew button in place on the inside of bag

Sew handle in place on the inside back, 

Sew sides

4 mm needles

Dried lavender 

Knit 2 pieces

Begin at the bottom cast on 3  stitches

Knit 1 row

Next row:  knit 1, knit into front and back of next stitch, knit 1

Next and every row:  knit 2, knit into front and back of next stitch, knit to end

Repeat until 22 (26)stitches on needle

Next row: knit 2, s1, knit 1, p.s.s.o. Knit to end

Repeat last row until 4 stitches remain

Next row: knit 2 tog, twice

Next row: knit 2 tog

Fasten off

Sew 3 seams together, add lavender and close final seam.

Add a flower

Small amount of toy stuffing

Cast on 18 stitches for basket

Knit 18 rows in garter stitch (every row knit)

Change to cat colour

Knit in stocking stitch (1 row knit, 1 row purl) for 11 cms

Change back to basket colour 

Knit 18 rows in garter stitch 

Cast off

Add face before sewing side seams

Sew side seams

Stuff lightly

Sew across top corners to make ears

Sew up bottom seam
